Bambino's First Trip to Maui

With bones and cartilage beginning to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress! Body length will almost double in the next three weeks and arm joints are now working! Legs too soon!

We had SO MUCH FUN in Maui! Met up with some friends who live on the island, did some hiking, lounging on the beach, catching beautiful sunsets and eating great food! Here are a few pics!

Chris and some weird sailor man....there is a pic somewhere from our honeymoon of the same thing, we wanted to recreate the moment lol.

Beach in south Maui-Secret Cove. Molokini Crater in the distance.

Chris and I at the Luau! We met up with my Uncle Rick, Aunt Joni and cousins Alayna, Bekah and Ciara! Fun times!

Beautiful Napili Bay.

Chris swimming at Big Beach, south Maui.

Whales! It was hard to get a good pic but we saw so many whales this trip!

On the whale watch raft boat thing...

Beautiful Kaanapali Beach sunset!

It's a Fetus!

Our little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

Last post for a while, unless I find time to update while we are in MAUI! Hope everyone is well! Mucho Love,
Trista and Chris

One Step Closer!

After a REALLY long weekend of studying, I successfully completed Nursing 207! Just one term to go until graduation and state boards! SO EXCITED! Thanks everyone for praying!

Happy 8 Weeks!

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

I'm feeling pretty good, just having some 'morning sickness' in the evenings. I've been super distracted from all of my pregnancy symptoms (minus fatigue!) because I'm in the middle of finals. One nursing exam to go, then a final for another class on Saturday. After that, Chris and I are going to MAUI! We are so excited. We planned the trip before we knew we were expecting but the timing is perfect! God is so good!

Shout Out!

Thank you to Sally Bowder for donating to Team Tim! You Rock!!!

Bambino and Pacific City

Baby's brain is growing fast and generating about 100 new cells every minute! Arms and lets are emerging as joints start to form, and the kidneys are now in place. :)

Chris and I went to the beach last week, it was REALLY rainy and REALLY windy so we pretty much stayed in the car:

On the way to Pacific City, through the Tillamook Forest I had to pee....surprise surprise so we stopped at the forestry center. I had no idea it even existed. It's right on the Wilson River and has a lookout tower and a museum. It's also the start of some hiking trails which we are planning on checking out once the weather gets better!

Here's Chris in the 'fire station'

And Trista the pregnant firelady-check out the forest fire behind me! Good thing I have a hose!

Our Little Sweet Pea

Baby Slowik is the size of a sweet pea this week and will double in size by this time next week!! Chris was reading something the other day that said if baby continued to grow at the rate it is now after delivery it would be around 15 feet tall at 1 month old!
